Because its what I have, lol. Its an old Gary Fisher Marlin although I am unsure of the year. It has had some gheto fixing in the past such as the tape on the sus fork. I also recently installed a new easton handlebar because the past one was starting to rust like mad. This will soon be my winter and commuting bike since I have my eyes on a Lapierre Zesty.
Santa Cruz, because it sounds so much more exotic than 'Biggleswade' 🙂

Because it is.
Bike still covered in Enduro 6 dust.
Because I just love fettling...
+1 : )

Love it and hate it in equal measures.
Love the way it rides and how versatile it is. 😀
Hate the fact that I've been to several demo days and tried all the bikes I thought I wanted to replace it with yet I've not found anything I'd change it for, so no shiny-shiny for me. 🙁
*I've had the gardener put down some weed killer so it's a lot tidier now, honest.
keep em coming................but 1 question.
where are all the niche mongers
Just because, and because it makes less sense the more you look.
😉
Because it's fantastic and does [almost] everything.
Because it's as equally fantastic as it's mate there ^.
This tho' ... this has now been retired.
It was a crazy bicycle, and used to get me into some real bad situations ...

Sorry not at all niche except the stupid bars
I bought this lightly used a year ago. I've had a long term wrist injury and it was genuinley unsure as th wether it would stand up to much off road cyling. I was doing OK on my old hard tail with rubbish 80 mm travel forks but still getting wrist pain on bad days/longer rides.
On this bike with those stupid bars the wrist is pretty much a non issue 🙂
Oh its also the only bike that has truely been the right size for me, lovely long chain stays and top tube

cos they go up and down like proper mtb's should.
So whats you're fav so far Ton? And why? 🙂
the ventana's are close to my heart.
but the green pipedream on the 1st page is simple and lovely.
You know, these Kona FS-ers are looking absolutely lovely. they look really right. Hmmmmm
The Genesis...

[/img]
Couple of components changed since that pic, and about to get the 853 frame swapped out for the very same in Ti! Overall I love it cos it's simple, handles brilliantly, and is possibly the most reliable bike I've ever had... No matter what, it always works!
The Maverick...
[/img]
Love it cos quite simply I don't think there is a better "all round" bike out there. I've ridden and owned so many different full sus bikes over the years, and come to the conclusion that the Maverick really is the best all rounder out there. It goes uphill like an XC whippet, and descends like a DH demon (shame its owner does neither!). It still amazes me just how good it is every time I ride it.
The Reign X

Now with added KSi900 post for saddle dropability. Love this cos there's no other long travel bike I've ridden that handles as well, or is so versatile. Proper good fun, and a good "UK DH" bike to boot.

Because its fast, and I convinced myself I needed one! I'm promising myself I'm going to ride it more, was going to ride it today actually buy my back has given way!
luke, lapierre's are very nice too.
i went to look at the 36 equipped spicy in evans.
could be a get well present to my self when i can ride. 😉
ton they are very nice but i do get a lot of funny looks on it as i do look very young!!!! it climbs very well ( alot better then me) and it almost feels part of me on the descents. you are more then welcome to have a go on when u get better although i maybe abit small for you as it is a short ass medium !!!!
damn it.
Looks well nice Tazzy! I always assumed those Ellsworths were heavy downhiller-type bikes that weren't able to ride up hill!
