Then there's also these babies:

My back-up 'Cross bike:

And also this:

A retro, steel, Dolan 'Cross bike which I've singlespeeded. (Pictured here when I geared it up and put some 23mm slicks on it for a Club 10). In it's usual guise it's geared at 42x18 and has 32mm knobblies. SUPERB, comfortable, nippy, go any where, do anything bike. Love it.

Obviously not a 'real' CX bike with racks, bottle holders etc

Mostly used for commuting.

Oh and the Vapour is an ace bike. Got to give mine a bit of love and then drag it out to NW league later this month

Hiya,

First Western League race is on Sunday 13th at Gloucester Boating Lake, but I can't wait that long - I'm off to Wellington on Sunday to do the SW League's first race.

Incidentally, thanks to a resurgence of interest in the sport in recent years there are three new/additional races in this year's calendar; two in WsM and one in Cheltenham). So 14 rounds in total!

That's great to hear, I'm sure Clubber will send the word out to the LVIS boys. Can't make the first round myself, but we'll definitely be along for some of the later ones!

Good man. As ever, Bristol hosts the most races (Ashton Ct, Purdown, Conham River Park) so it'd be good to see some of you Brizzle-types there. Or further afield, for that matter.

Yeah, been off to look at the BC site and I see the dreaded Purdown course is my first local one. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Any idea what the WSM course is going to be like? Do they have a venue in mind yet?

so is a speccy tricross considered CX ?
i'd suggest so - capable off road in COMP guise , as my commute now dictates ๐Ÿ˜€
brilliant fun !

another 'not really a cx bike' pic, my roadrat in cx (ish) mode. Think it needs some carbon forks or some less harsh steel ones.

Well done folks - just the inspiration I needed.
09 Vapour from Square Wheels now ordered.
Now just got to wait for the kind folks at Cyclescheme to sort the paper work out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Keep the pictures coming though.

Sorry Geoff, but I hope you're luckier than me. I ordered my Genesis Croix de Fer in mid July through the cyclework scheme. The paperwork was done within a few days and everything sorted. Except the bike. Where is it? Who knows, probably in a container on the high seas somewhere, but it's looking unlikely that I'll get it before the first Scottish CX race at the start of October.

Spoke to a bike shop chappie today, (not the bike shop/chap I ordered it from as he's only capable of saying it'll be here next week) ๐Ÿ™„ and he reckons the Genesis bikes won't be in the shops till mid October. I hope I'm wrong, and I really hope you get your bike quickly, but you might have to wait a few weeks for it. Sorry.

Beagleboy - I feel your pain. Fortunately, for me, I know that the bike I am getting is already in the shop in Strathpeffer. Its an 09 model and quite possibly one of the last few 56cm ones available in Scotland.

I hope yours arrives soon - and anyway, a cross bike with discs ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
Whatever next!

Blimey! that's a bit loud!
Some great looking bikes here, chaps. There's a nice one (cx bike) in my LBS....not buying it....just putting the finishing touches to my P7. Also, there's a very tasty Yeti cross bike that I see occasionally...a symphony in turquoise and white.
