I'd love a b.m.x!
The missus keeps frowning at me when I mention it though.
Apparently, they're "for kids".

DarrenH - no they're not!

I think that opinion is just because when we were kids, BMX was new and there was no older generation riding so everyone thinks its for kids because they never remember seeing old guys riding (and there are plenty out there)

At the end of the day its two wheels and just an fun / dangerous as DH / FR...

I'd recommend anyone who is into MTB try it.

I would love a BMX, my son has two (Spesh Fuse and a Haro), have a little play on them every now and then (when I have fixed them for him) but at 44 feel a little stupid and crap going out in public on one especially at the local skate park in front of the spotty yoofs (who can ride).

TBH - anyone on here who rides MTBs should try it and how much they cost makes them very affordable (around £300-£400 for something decent)...

Do it! Then join us old 'uns down Corby skatepark (www.adrenalinealley.co.uk) on a Tuesday to learn how to have fun.

😉

Yep, been campaigning a GT Power series (with the box stays) for a good while now. Then got a Cruiser and loving that too.

Daughter races a GT micro, youngest son races an S&M Mini Ripper and oldest son races a Redline Expert.

We love it all. Have recently made the move into the indoor skatepark and loving it. Aint cheap though.....

Yes Jedi! It's on!!!

Got to pick up a hubguard from Stodgy on the way so should be round by 10.30 if traffic not too bad. We'll chat about where we're going when we get there.

Weather is looking spot on (except for a lack of sun), car is packed, all I got to do is sleep and put the bike in tomorrow.

Not for me now sadly, but some fond memories, especially with Jedi last year.
From Harrow with Jedi

From the past (about 23 years ago)

And finally
from the loft

And its staying there 🙂

love that pic of harrow..Is the skatepark still there?

Loving that Sunn MBIX in my favourate colour too. Remeber seeing those in the bikeshops when I was looking my first mtb ( a Sunn).

Shame I cannot see the pics of the diamond back silver streak/ Harry leary turbo. One of my favourite retro rides.

😀

Sorry Juiced - another go -

[IMG] [/IMG]

[IMG] [/IMG]

Although they've changed a bit since the photos - the Streak's now wearing black Araya 7x shinesides, (not the z rims) black Mks BM10 pedals, and a black chainring, and the Senior pro is boxed up to get a black powdercoat on the frame soon, and some gold prisim decals fitted.

I also have a DB Pacer500 (the Taiwan Silverstreak replacement) being almost comleted but no photos yet, wearing pro size bars and finished in non standard red and black finishing kit, and I have a never built up DB formula1 1 f&f under my bed.

With the Orange p7 and Bianchi alu Nirone racer, my small 1 bed flats looking a bit busy right now....

All from the time when Diamond Back were arguably (with the Leary and Streak) the best BMX makers....
