Alright chaps,

I'm considering some white rims on my white ex8.... but not entirely sure how it'd look.... anyone got pics of your bikes with white rims? White bikes preferable 😉

Whats the opinions on Sunn EQ's over Halo Freedoms? as i trashed a set of freedoms in france.

That's Halo Freedom 29er rims on the Lynskey up there. ^
Any rim that stays true with two broken spokes and a 95kg rider is OK by me. 😉

yes i like to trash things though and that them ere Flows did'nt pass the Blow test in ze alps 🙂

In my experience so far, halo rims good and strong, general spokes and wheel build good and strong, rear hub and freewheel made of recycled crisp packets and bits of broken Christmas decorations and thus total cack.

I know that Halo do some white rims, but who else? I'm thinking about a wheel build in the next couple of weeks and would like some white rim options please 🙂

You can get almost all of Stans rims in white from Wiggle. The rims on my Commencal are Stans Crest which seem perfect as a strong and light rim so far.

DT Swiss EX5.1D (at least a year or two back they were available)

There'll be many more

Are white rims (As per many white things) heavier not being anodised, but coated?

i've been looking at the stans rims on wiggle and from searching the forum there are flows, crest or arch that people have been riding. Im building up a Heckler with 140mm forks for all mountain riding including jumps/drops, climbing and fast descending. I've got Halo SAS right now and at 560g each, pretty heavy but absolutely bomb proof. Just wondering how light i can go without having to compromise strength or running skinny tyres.

Syncros DS 28 rims from Stif - quite reasonably priced and no problems yet (about 18 months old)

I know that superstar also offer white rims. Well, they do for the 29ers, haven't checked for smaller wheels but I am sure yes.

My old Enduro with some Syncros rims. They were pretty strong and quite light.
