(reason for asking: thinking about one but borderline between S & M and just want to make sure S doesn't look a bit, well, odd).

I don't disagree. However, Niner sizing (in terms of size for rider height) is a bit bigger than one would expect - I usually take a M or thereabouts, but reach/standover etc. suggests I'd need a S Niner.

My medium SIR9 is somewhat smaller than the 18" (if you assume that's a medium) Inbred it replaced.

Actually that small niner doesn't look as odd as others Ive seen, maybe cuz of the small head tube, it looks more in proportion.

M Cannondale F1 is 17"; Niner Air 9 M is 16.5" but has a longer TT.
