Sorry, I forgot to answer the OP. I'm running 32x18 which I find spot on for 29er bikes.

Cheers

Did anyone else think that simon1975's second bike looked like it was leaning on a person in dark trousers?.... or are you all seeing a tree like normal people? (page 1)

Getting more use than any other bike at the moment:

[img] [/img]
32:18 because it's hilly round here. 26" wheels

And here's the commuter:
[img] [/img]
42:16 - fixed: 26" wheels

Finding the image linking to flickr a bit different.

but installing greasemonkey and stewartpratt's script has solved the problem!

The first bike I ever bought with my own money - a 1998 stumpjumper. Loving the v-brake action, long stem and crap geometry - oh yeah! 32:16 up here in Northumberland 🙂

Here's 34:18 on an inbred - I had an 18 tooth freewheel in the spares when rebuilding the drive train and actually quite like it.

Yeah, that's at the hotel in Anchorage where we gathered before the start. The bashguard is not so much for the gnarl as for protecting my big boots from the chainring.
