The cables on my new orange rx9 are waaay to long going to the back
I am fine to shorten the mech cables but for the hydraulic lines - shorten them at the lever side or at the calliper side ? They will need a bleed after so I thought do at the caliper side ?
Caliper side for me, so I don't need to touch the bar tape. Doesn't make any odds as far as bleeding is concerned imo.
If you're careful and have good technique, you can shorten at the lever end and might not need to bleed.
I'd go lever end, much easier to bleed. Your only problem is if the bar tape doesn't come off in one piece. But easy to wrap if new tape is needed
Lever end. The caliper end can often be crimped fittings.
Remember you may need some bits.ย Olives and or barbs depending on manufacturer
