Can anyone recommend some off road stuff in and around Esher, Surrey. I am down from Newcastle all next week on a residential course at the union college in Esher village. However, I'll only have time for short rides (1 hour perhaps) as there will be evening work! Appreciate any suggestions.
head along the high st towards Cobham, after a couple of miles road that's as XC as it gets.
Or head towards Oxshott and ride oxshott woods.
Both pretty crap and unbelievably tame, but it's the best you'll get.

Oh, and I might be able to swing a late night ride depending on work. It's where I grew up so know it backwards.
As pk-ripper says I would stick to Esher Common, Oxshott Common and you can also add in West End Common. Its tame but nearby and compact so easy just to loop round without really knowing where you are so to speak.
From my experience there is not a lot around Cobham until you go as far as the North Downs.
