Any suggestions around the £4-£500 mark please. Have a half decent full sus bike and a class ss steel hardtail, I fancy something for mucking about on plus there's a bmx track opened just around the corner 😉
I'd be looking for a secondhand DMR Trailstar or Sidekick...
Charge Stove, perhaps?
Spesh P1.
I have this DMR Trailstar for sale: http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-dmr-trailstar-cheap-hack-bike
Swap to a shorter stem and it might be ideal. You could also SS it easily since it has horiz dropouts

Cheers Guys,
David,have you sold the Trailstar?
I have a commencal maxmax for that very job, Merlin have one in for about £250 i think.
I built up a Spesh P3 before xmas for just the same kind of riding, i think it's going to be ridden alot when things dry out.
Nope, I haven't sold the trailstar yet mate
Gotta be a DMR..
I've got a NS Bikes StreetLegal I would part with for that sort of money...
I’d build one for that money. I picked up a Planet-X Jack Flash frame for £50 on e-bay, pair of coil Marz forks for £80 and that leaves you with £300 - £400 ish to kit it out. You can build these things pretty simply anyway, single speed, only a rear brake, heavy finishing kit. You could have a hell of a bike for £500.
Build up a Dialled Bikes Holeshot:
Current stock and prices are:
Prince Albert (all sizes in orange and purple) £240
Alpine (15.5? with 21? top tube only in metallic black and purple) Special Offer Price £260
Holeshot (21.5? top tube in blue and red) £199
Holeshot (22.3? top tube in red) £230

Yep, sounds like an ideal candidate for building one up with bargain bits.
This is my pub/commuter/spare/fitness/tinkering bike, built up for less than £200, A lot of it is very new and nothing is particularly old/worn out. Helps if you can build your own wheels, if not, its the perfect time to learn. Not exactly a jump bike but you get the idea, could have been easily built that way for the same/less money
Cheers Guys, lots to mull over.:)
