RP2 on a King Kikapu 16". Bushings started to go so took it into lbs so they could change 'em over for me.

Took a few days (no issues with that they are busy) when i went in they said that the bushings were of an odd size and TFT had to manufacture some new ones so they made them a bit heavier duty.

Is this just a line, why would there not be a common set? Don't mind lbs greased and tightened bb while it was in.

TFT heavy duty bushings are great last way longer than originals and only around £16 a set......

sounds like a line, bushing are with 1/2" for fox (and others) or 12mm for Manitou (and others).
Now the 'mounting' kit, if that was replaced, might have had to be made up (or cut to size).... still doesn't sound right.

£16 mentioned above is for mounting kit and bush.......with the "old" mounting kit I would never replace the bush without changing the mount aswell, once heavy duty kit is installed you just need to replace the bush when they wear out.

personnally never had a problem with replacing bushings two or three (or more) times without before changing the STD mounting kit.

Not that I'm saying the heavy duty mounting kits aren't worth it, I run TF kit on at least one of my bikes, just that I''ve never seen the need to change them 'that' regularly - they suggested the HD kit due to the bike type.

I replace my mounting kits when I can 'feel' the mounting kit is loose in a new bushing I'd replace it... not had any long term issues due to it.

It's the width that'll be odd as they are all the same diameter. The TF heavey duty ones are worth the extra though.
