I'm in the process of getting a new 190x50 shock as mine blew up I've been offered one off a mega TR. Now it's the same shock length 190x50 but it only has 130mm travel whereas I need 140mm for the 5.

If I'm looking for a 140mm rear shock in 190x50 how do I guarantee it's has 140mm travel?

Cheers

The frame determines the travel, not the shock.

Then that makes a lot more sense.

Thank you.

Bear in mind shocks that were intended for different bikes are tuned differently, so what is great on one bike might be awful on another even if it's the same size.

Wont be the same as a mega.Different curve so will need a re-tune.

Use a shock calculator. There is one on the tf tuned site I think.

Both bikes are single pivot though aren't they? So I'd give it a go myself.

If it's for a 5 I have a Manitou Swinger that came off mine. Ok so it's not the fanciest name but it worked pretty well. I went to an RP23 and that improved in some areas but not others.

Email me if interested, it'll be cheap.

Rob - it was on the rock shox site actually, not tf. Can't find it on phone sorry.

Was intended for monarch buyers to get right tune for their bike but must be same for any air shock?
