[#4777527]

I need a new rear mech to replace my slx one i recently tore off and like the look of the shimano zee cos of the short cage and clutch. Could anyone tell me if it will work with my 3x10 set up or will the chain be too long for the short cage ?
Thanks

I believe the only thing you only have to worry about is the tooth range of the cassette. One version of the zee is for cassettes from 11-36t the other is a rather narrower range (for Dhers). I'm 95% sure the number of chainrings doesnt matter.

the tooth range is a function of the chaining range and the cassette range so the front does matter. It's something like largest front + smallest rear - smallest front + largest rear.

I've not looked into it but I have a strong suspicion that the Zee won't be any good for the 3x10 setup you will need an SGS SLX/XT or similar.

zee is for 1x10 only... you need a long cage for 3x10 (that is the purpose of the cage).
