i've decided to invest in a pair of shimano zee's and i want to use my existing rotors (203mm/183mm).
for the front i know i will need a post to post 203mm adapter but i'm stuck on what to do for the rear
the frame has an IS mount and i know i'll need an IS to post mount but it seems these only come as 180mm units.
will i be able to get away with fitting one of these or do i need to get one that fits a 183mm rotor? if so anyone know of where i can get hold of one?
if no 183mm adapters are available will i need to bite the bullet and get a new 180mm rotor as well?
i need to keep the costs to a minimum in order to keep Mrs Gonzy happy....she's gonna hit the roof when she see how much i've spent on the brakes as it is!!
thanks!
I've just bought shimano brakes and they sit directly on the mount, guess if you shim it up with some of the Avid cup and cone spacers you could bodge it. Honestly though just buy the shimano rotors, I've tried to bodge mine to fit my Hope rotors and its just not working.
Had the same issue with my Hope rotors. they replaced avids so like above used the cup and cone spacers off those to make it work. the Hope rotors tool some messing about with on the avids as well. It will work but just need to take the time with the placements.
