Hi,
I just bought a new hose for my XT brakes, I thought I could reuse the Banjo off the old hose but I cannot and there wasn't a new one in the hose kit, Very annoying! Does anyone know where to get one? its the 2012 XT brakes.
Thanks
Aren't the Shimano banjo fittings crimped on? I thought you had to buy the right hose with one already fixed on one end, like this
Or Goodridge seem to do a Shimano kit which has seperate banjo fittings here
I went goodridge when I swapped them to a new bike.
I had the same problem, moving from xt765 to xt785 callipers. The banjo bolt is much longer on the 785s. You will need shimano SM-BH90 hose or equivalent.....
^ you need to buy the hose with a pre-fitted banjo. Or go for a modular aftermarket set like goodridge or fibrax or Superstarcomponent.s
XT 765 needs standard BH63 hose or similar with pre crimped banjo and standard (gold) inserts.
XT 775 uses standard BH63 hose with no banjo - shroud nuts, olives and gold inserts at both ends.
XT 785 uses new BH90 hose with pre crimped banjo and new silver inserts.
HTH.
Thanks, I bought the SM-BH90 hose kit with all the bits such as olives etc but the crimped banjo was missing off the end of the hose. I guess I should go back to the LBS to query it.
