Anyone got the Ultegra wheelset? Thinking of getting these or some of the Hope hoops on Stans rims.

Anyone with experience of either i'd be interested to hear. Desperately need a new front wheel but can't decide which, Its to replace a Mavic Aksium Race.

Front wheel has finally gone kaput so now have to get a wheel. Looking more for long term durability/serviceability and availability of spares should they be needed rather than any aero/weight advantage so looking at the Hope wheels.

So has anyone got any long term experience of the Hope road wheels on Stans rims?

I've got a pair of hope road hubs on mavic open pro, had them around 5 years and front still on original bearings, rim about ready to change
Rear hub has needed bearings and ratchet ring changing, which was done by hope on warranty, rim was changed last year
I've got 2 pairs of 10 speed Ultegra wheels, and 2 pairs of 11 speed Ultegra wheels, great wheels all are been used tubeless, the 10 speed wheels on my cross bikes running Hutchinson and vitorria tyres, rim side walls are getting a bit thin now.
The 11speed ones are running Hutchinson Secteurs and Intensives on the road
All wheels are running straight and true with smooth hubs, never had a tool on them!

LOL you haven't made things easier crazy baboon got me thinking of the Ultegra 6800 again now 🙂

Just looked on Chainreaction and they are doing them for £255 a set i'm thinking they're cheap enough to take a gamble on.

I'd go for the Ultegras rather than the hopes, hope hubs are great and rebuild able whereas the Ultegras are disposable really, as the cost and hassle of rerimming them makes it easier just to replace them, but they last so long and are so reliable yet cost so little!
Btw I'm 100kgs so not gentle on wheels!

Ultegra's are awesome wheels, not touched them in 3 years and they've done lots of miles in the Alps and Yorkshire, summers and winters

Another thumbs up for the ultegra rims. I bought these for training but ended up just using them all the time. Must have done nearly 3000 miles on them and still running smooth and true.

Found Wiggle were doing them individually but not as a set. Oh well paid the bit extra and ordered them.
