Has anybody had avids with shimano rotors?
Thinking of running Shimano XT or SLX rotors with my Avid Elixir 5s.
I have got a Deore rotor at the rear, it fits and appears to be the same thickness as the avid rotor (HS1 type) Are other Shimano rotors (XT SLX)the same thickness?
How are Shimano rotors when it comes to warping, heating up and squealing? Compared to avid rotors?
I have Centre lock hubs also.

I run BB7s on centre lock XTR rotors. I have to snip one of the little pad removal sticky-ooty-bits off coz it fouls the rotor.
I've had no problems with Shimano rotors, but did have warping probs with Avid HS3's on a Trek EX8.. Ride the same areas as before on an Anthem now..
Think squealing is probs more to do with the pad's compound than the disc.
