[#4249781]

Got a 10 speed 105 short cage mech on the crosser.
Fancy a few more teeth on the rear for the 3 Peaks.
Currently got a 46-34 12-27 set up, could get a Tiagra 10 speed cassette to take it to 12-30 at the back.

So, capacity wise, that looks like (46-34=)12 plus (30-12=)18 which equals a capacity of 30 teeth..

Looks like the mech spec says; Maximum front difference 16T, total capacity 33T, but my LBS are a bit unsure.

Anyone have any thoughts, basically, will a short cage 105 10 speed mech work with a 30 tooth cassette?

Just put a longer B-tension screw in it and wind it in.I ran a 32 with an ultegra mech a couple of years ago (did'nt work perfectly but ok).

The B tension screw is only half out anyway, and it seems to work OK with the wifes tiagra cassette, so I'll give it a go. I'm just getting a bit too old to push 34-27 up Pen-Y-Gent...
