Shimano Battery Dilemma

Merida E160 2023 purchased from EBay, got bike home rode a couple of miles and Battery is dead. Confirmed battery is dead with LBS. Seller is more than happy to refund or buy a new battery. Battery is a Shimano BT EN806 32v 630Wh. When I spoke to LBS they said the cost of a new battery is £800 but Shimano don’t have any in stock. I have looked online and I can see the batteries can be bought for around the £500 mark OEM from certain bike websites.

Do I let the LBS do the work and maybe if I’m lucky get a discount from Shimano on a 500Wh battery? (around £400 LBS said)

Or do I buy the battery myself and fit

Shimano will do you one, via your dealer, for £400… if you wait?

I would just get it here:

Brilliant bikes by the way, we have two of the 2022 flavour, absolutely superb 🙂
