I have a pal who has Shimano alfine 8 speed with electronic shifter. It's not shifting as sharp as it should. I've had alfine before and was expecting to just line up the yellow dots but these are missing from the di2 version.
Does anyone know HTF to tune these gears? Looking at the 115 page dealer manual seems I need to use the etube app but has no destructions on how to connect the POS app to the bike.

Don’t you just hold down the button on the display for 2 secs to move to adjustment mode (“R”) and then use the shifter buttons to adjust what would be cable tension on a mechanical set up? There’s a +/- adjustment - 4 clicks either side of the centred position.

Buy an SM-PCE02 and plug it into a computer then 🙂
I can do most stuff myself but wheel building and setting up Di2 I give to my LBS.
I'm selling my Alfine 8 Di2 bike if he wants to give up and start again, shifts perfectly 😁 No idea how they did it though... Although I do have yellow dots on the shift-motor unit if that means anything?
Ah. Think you’ll need PCE02 Diagnostic tool then. Unlikely to have Bluetooth functionality unless it has a recent battery and a Bluetooth wireless unit like EWWU111 fitted.
Wired connection is more reliable anyway and has greater functionality.
Thanks @andrewh, kind offer. Pal has a big garage with lots of spare room so I guess it's a possibility.
Looking at the cost of a SM-PCE02 maybe buying new bike better idea.
His LBS appears to have zero clues re Alfine + di2
