Looking to upgrade the levers on my bike.
The 4100 are ok but the way the clamps are means if I set them up for 1 finger braking the other controls sit too far out. Happy with thrr red callipers (4 pots).
Don’t want to spend a fortune so what would be a logical upgrade?
BL-M7100 And BL-M8100 Maybe options?
Just found sets of both. Difference is £8. m8100 seems a no trainer for £8 extra?
Not sure what the functional difference between slx and xt is. I have slx. Has all the adjustments I need. Xt is shinier. £8 for shiny?

I have rightly or wrongly assumed this are compatible with MT420 4 pot callipers? Think I read that they are compatible.
Deore level, SLX, XT just have tool free reach adjust, just one more thing to break.. more than happy to use an allen key to adjust the reach the one nad only time it ever needs doing
although, i cant see what difference any will make to positioning?

I'm using SLX (BL-M7100) levers with MT420 4-pot calipers - I hated the feel of the long-levered 4100 levers and happened to have a spare set of SLX brakes (from a PSA on here a few months ago). Working perfectly for me and a much nicer lever.
^^^^ yep those are the levers I have and they do seem quite long. Ordered the 7100 and a GX shifter at same time.
