as above is it posible to convert shimano xt 20mm hubs to 15mm.had a look about but dont see any adaptors.any ideas?

I have wondered this myself. I have the XT All Mountains. The list of spares on Madison is massive - It may be possible to swap them out as I think Shimano are now doing a 15mm version.

Can a 15 mm hub be stripped and built into a 20mm hub?

AFAIK no adaptors exist. You might be able to bodge something...
