Hi have xt I spec ii brake levers and need to mount a I spec b shifter can someone point me in the direction of a suitable adapter.

Without knowing: my guess would have been only I spec ii matches to I spec ii...
Are such adapters around?

Try trickstuff in Germany - they do all sorts of adaptors for shifter /brake combos.
