I’m looking to change a twist shifter to a trigger shifter. I have an sram x9 9 speed derailleur, will any sram 9 speed trigger shifter be compatible and will I need to change the cable? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Any 9 speed sram shifter should be compatible. You'll need to change the inner cable and could be worth changing the outer whilst your at it if its getting on a bit.
