[Closed] Setting up non-TR Maxxis High Roller tubeless

Quick query:
Ordered a couple of High Roller IIs from ChainReaction yesterday, and then when checking my order confirmation later realised that one is not TR. It's the EXO 3C MaxxTerra with a folding bead (code sku385826). I have got in touch with them this morning but the order is too far through their dispatch process to be changed.
Question can I set this tyre up tubeless or do I need to return it and order the correct tyre? I'll be using Stan's No Tubes The Solution sealant if that makes a difference.

Assume both going on the same bike? Put the tr on the back. Be fine, might need a bit more sealant.

The TR was for the back (2.3") with the 2.4" 3C going on the front. I've got two pints of sealant coming so that should be sufficient I hope...

Wouldn't risk it personally, just send it back and get the right tyre

I did an older 26" wire bead HR a while ago and it did end up staying inflated after a good few rides out and an extra glug of Stan's sealant.

Never had any issues with setting up/running non-TR Maxxis tubeless.
People have been running tubeless long before 'tubeless ready' tyres came about..

Yep, that.

I have had no issues sealing no tubeless tyres, however the non tubeless ones tend to be lighter weight/thinner which makes it harder to capitalise on the lower pressure advantage that tubeless brings. My anecdotal experience is that they puncture, rip and hole much easier.

Hmm. I've just ordered the correct TR tyre. I used the "PayPal pay later" option so not financially clobbered right now! I figure for the slight delay in getting the tyres and the slight inconvenience of returning one I'll have more peace of mind running the proper set up. Also, this will be my first go at setting up tubeless tyres so I'm trying to stack the odds in my favour!

It works fine tubeless, but does need pumping up more often than my TR Maxxis tyres.
