[#1539653]

rear brake is very spongy.

2 questions:
(1) can you use other kinds of brake fluid than magura (it says use only magura mineral oil)?
(2) Are they easy to bleed (i've done hope mono minis with little fuss)?

thanks

IME
Shimano mineral oil works fine.
They are not the easiest to bleed.

You can use Citroen LHM mineral oil too, very cheap compared to the small bottles of Shimano or Magura Blood.

I find them pretty easy but then again I have the correct tools to bleed them, ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes LHM might be yellow but it will be just as good as more expensive bike oil.
If its good enough for Rolls-Royce, Bently and Citroen cars it will be OK for Magura brakes.

I have the magura bleed kit which is basically a couple of syringes and tubing. But I have found maguras to be very easy to bleed. You can use pretty much any mineral oil so you're not restricted to magura or shimano brand. I use some cheapo halfords stuff. Works fine.
