I've just a had a maintenance quote from Mojo that is pretty steep and i thought about doing it myself.

What do i need? I'm going to stick a new spring in there while i'm at it.

Cheers

Instructions http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id10.html

Seals, fork oil (optional: touch-up paint)

Hardest bit I found was removing the seals, so don't expect to be able to replace the same ones.

Stif do the seals for £15 and oil for £10, so that's £25 to service yourself. Those insrtuctions on enduro are good too and the whole job won't take long. Just keep everything clean, use clean rags to wipe everything off before refitting.

Thanks,

Reading those instructions, would you recommend the cutting a groove tip?

They're 2004 so out of warranty.

Didn't need to - mine unscrewed without issue. Just used a couple of big zip ties to pull the crown and brace together.

The other thing (step 7 in the instructions) make sure you have a decent 6 point socket with little or no chamfer otherwise you can make a mess of the very low profile top caps

Cheers for the advice, i'm sure its not that tough, it's just the little tips you pick up from doing it before that make it a bit easier.

What oil do you use when servicing?

I just bought the Fox stuff, as I was buying seals and paint anyway.

Cheaper to Get RockOil (what Fox use) from a motorbike shop. <£5/litre, enough for several services.
