There's only one way to fix this. New bike.
soak it in a bucket of hot soapy water then it will fit.
Once fitted they relax slightly and next time its easier

In summer, i put them on the van roof for an hour, winter i put them on the radiator in the house and get them nice and warm.
The only time i had that much overlap was a Bontrager rim before i removed the too thick rim strip.
I bought some Kryptotals the other week and was ready for a fight with them after seeing (laughing at) a mate struggle at Dyfi last year. Mine are the Enduro soft version but they went onto DT Swiss rims like a dream, I was well impressed!!
Full DH must be the bad boy ones...
Thumb strengthening exercises?
Make sure the rest of the tyre is in the well of the rim.
If it still does work replace the tyre with one that works.
Don't bother. How would you ever remove it, especially trailside if it got sufficiently damaged to require a tube in it? All the grip and performance in the world doesn't help if you're pushing it home for miles.
IceToolz DH tyre levers, or Pedros DH tyre levers with electrical tape wrapped around the end.
This comes up so often that I feel like we might need to set up some sort of peer support group.
Full DH must be the bad boy ones...
CAN CONFIRM.
Enduro/Soft was a piece of piss by comparison.
I think they should be called Kryptotalbstd's.....
I had the same issue with the DH's - took a while, but getting them really warm helps.
Metal core tyre levels are a must though - I broke 4 standard levers on one tyre....
Also once you got them on getting them off the first time is a b***h too lol
Once they've stretched they're fine.

Schwal e flat blue tyre levers. Very very thin with a well defined hook. No metal.
Pedros are shite in comparison.
Just done 2 Trail Endurance Kryptos, i'd argue in some ways they're worse than the DH as they don't hold as well on the side when you're pushing and end up flopping about a bit. They did have less overlap though when worked into the channel, but a bit of faffing with 2 hands to get them to 4/5 of the way.
Have you tried swearing at it?
Have you tried swearing at it?
Many many times. I think it heard me and decided to be a bit more stubborn as punishment

The f'er is going on if it kills me. I'll take my chances on the trail
I'm combining this with re-taping the rear wheel after replacing a spoke. That is doing my head in just as much. Given up with the Kranx rim tape (yes I've warmed it) and going again tomorrow with some 3M Scotch insulation tape and gorilla tape.
After that I'll have another Kryptotalb*std to fit 😭
Had a similar experience with WTB Wolverines years ago. Destroyed the tyre trying to get it off.
Remember before all this tubeless bullshit, you could just fit tyres? It was glorious and I miss it. Tubeless can die a death.

I remember riding 50 metres in the snow and having to fix another puncture. Is that what you mean?
That's a 27.5 tyre (not) going on a 29 rim, surely 😉

You'd think
*Goes to check I've not unboxed the rear tyre by mistake
I’ve settled on the following
Cushcore lever
Industrial zip ties
Continually pushing the bead into the centre of the rim. All the way around to create some slack.
dont forget the washing up liquid
I've done washing up liquid, always centre the bead, tried it pushing the outer bead on first then switched and put the rim totally inside the tyre and treated it like the second bead, bent my sturdiest plastic lever that was previously a beast of a lever, reduced to a quivering mess, warmed it up next to the radiator. Hot bath for them tomorrow and if that doesn't work they are going to Zepnat (my lbs). Different levers coming from Big Jeff tomorrow, we shall see. I might try bending my rim into them, it might be easier
You need a grown up to do it for you?
what rims out of interest?

Yes please 😂
Roval Traverse SL Carbon
Tubeless can die a death.
Words that can only have been posted by someone who has never played dog shit tyre roulette while changing a tube on a dark winter night 😂
OP clearly wouldn't get a Marathon Plus on a rim, although that Kryptotal looks a pig!
I have a technique with two tyre levers. Use them wrong way up so the surface that normally goes under the bead is facing down onto the rim.
Lay the wheel flat. Kneel gently on the side where the bead is on with the open bit opposite and the stubborn bit of bead above the rim.
Put one lever at the left hand extreme where the tyre isn't yet on the rim and one on the right hand. Tension them both upwards. You'll need to then get one (working) lever to 90 about degrees to the rim and a bit of bead will slide onto the rim. Once a bit of bead has popped on keep pressure on the static lever and move the working lever along a bit. Repeat.
Just 10-20mm at a time if necessary. By putting a lever both sides of the stubborn bit you stop it going on at one end off at the other.
Maybe you've tried this already but I've not yet found a tyre I couldn't eventually get on that way.
One other thought...
Have you tried fitting it from the outside of the rim? In the picture in the OP you are fitting the bead from the 'wrong' side compared to how it would go on if you already had a side on. I try to avoid that with tight tyres.

Are we still talking about tyres?

Yep, tried both
Rim in the freezer?
😉
Another vote for
- Remove tyre from packaging zip tyres and warm up in the sun, kitchen, airing cupboard, etc, a few hours beforehand
- Cushcore lever
Add to that, the video elsewhere on STW about 'kneeding' the tyre rim in to the bottom section of the rim. Though I dont think I have ever had such a stubborn combination as the OP.
Video:
Argotal dh was the worst tyre I've ever fitted, with teh possible exception of wire bead tioga factory xcs. Onto a pretty easy rim, too. It's not just that they're tight, though they are,, there's something spiteful about the construction that means it just always wants to slide off more than it wants to go on. And slippery too.
Came off much easier than I expected though and getting hte second "side" on was easier than the first.
I always swear by the lezyne power levers- not the big ones, the little ones with a hook on only one end. They're not strong, and you can't get much leverage, but they have the best hook shape ever so they just need less muscle and less tyre space to work. Completely the opposite of most levers that go "this is very strong, you can use lots of strength but the hook is enormous so you need to". A more civilized tool. Don't go too hard or the hook snaps off but that's the entire point, you shouldn't have to and if you are then you should stop.
Right, stop whatever method you have with stubborn beads and buy a Tire Monkey. The end.
Just been general bike fettling in the shed, had one of these delivered from Amazon yesterday and thought I'd just have a quick look to see if I'd stand any chance making it work when I had more time. Cold tyres, no soapyness, free hand - as in wheel in one hand lever in other, not even on the floor. 10 seconds and first bead was on. Didn't go for second bead as lost a grommet off my valve.
As an indicator of how tight these effin beads are, it's currently sat right in the recess and won't spin half an inch to properly line up the logo/valve.
Will it help with inserts?

Just ordered two on the strength of your ‘review’
Will it help with inserts?
I'd say it may help a little but you're still going to have to lift the insert away from the rim to get the tyre bead in so may be a bit pointless.
Question, since I've been grappling with b*stard Bontrager XRs on Stan's rims... from your experiences, how many Tire Monkeys would you suggest - 1/2/3?

Well I struggled for a couple of hours with the Conti's to no avail - one Tire Monkey did it in literally seconds
how many Tire Monkeys would you suggest - 1/2/3?
Looking at how they work I think you'd only want one. I've ordered a couple so I have one in the shed and one in my portable kit. I rarely have trouble with tyres but next time I get a tricky one I want one of these to hand rather than resorting to the steel Halfords specials I bought when a WTB tyre had done for several plastic levers
Update - they are on!
The remaining three beads didn't quite want to pop on with the Tire Monkey alone, although may have done eventually. The 27.5 was worse than the 29.
But....
Schwalbe flat blue tyre levers.
I'd already heeded this advice and got some. They definitely helped with their slim profile in conjunction with the Tire Monkey.
I reckon I was 5 mins a tyre whereas it was impossible previously.
Also after getting sick of trying to get a good fit with rim tape, ditched it and went ghetto with insulation tape and gorilla tape. Anyone that isn't familiar with good insulation tape - 3M Scotch tape is the dogs doodahs.
Cascade link fitted to the Levo also - 160mm on the rear now with more progression

Google for Tyre rope trick,
which may or may not be of use
but to be fair I’ve also used two pairs of water pump pliers to grip the tyre at the last bit and drag /twist it over the edge.
Looks what's just arrived...
Kryptotal DH and a Rimpact Pro V2.
As soon as Junior has gone to bed, battle will commence. I don't need him learning any new swear words.
That was pretty difficult but not the worst experience ever. It took about 25 minutes of wrestling. Rimpacts are a nightmare on first fitting. The tyre was tight but not ridiculous.
I did soak it in soapy water for 30 minutes first which made it much floppier.
Both thumbs are hurting right now.
