[Closed] Semi integrated headset crown race angle

I needed a headset for my Giant Reign 1 so bought this...

...from Chainreaction for 30 quid in a sale they were having recently. Thing is I've now discovered that the NC-17 crown race is a 36 degree offset whereas my currently knackered FSA has a 45 degree offset. Since I have the whole kit I could just fit it to my bike and it should work fine.

I was wondering though, why is the 36 degree angle considered obsolete? Should I send it back and get a more conventional 45 degree headset?
