So decided to give up the road racing.
Sold the training bike Saturday.
Cleared out lots of old gear, lots of happy buyers. Sold some lovely old Campagnolo on Fiamme 27x11/4 wheels to an old boy. Dropped them off in person and got chatting as you do. He was older than me, but was born in the same street as me. Turns out he bought all his first cycling bits in the same places as me. I offered him some other old bits and bobs free for his Maclean build.
So I left feeling all cheery. And when I got home a client of mine that I helped out dropped in some genuine Oakley Radarlocks he didn't want (he is a pilot!)
Nice.
Off a bit later for a lovely long off road ride, even wearing baggies today.
Now what new relaxed bike, the Bob Jackson or a Defy Composite?
Why give up road racing, I thought you were enjoying it?
Just going to do the little crits, but I can do those on 'just riding' fitness.
Instead of training all year for big races I fancy doing things like the Tour of Flanders Sportive, a big audax and maybe another 24 solo.
Keeping the race bike anyway.
