Probably more difficult but would you? I'm having the basically brand new shock (50 miles) I have length changed for a new frame but have no other shock to sell on the old frame. So assuming priced accordingly would it bother you as a buyer?

Depending on how much of a pita size it is not too much, though that said I'd be wary that aftermarket shocks are unlike to have the same "custom tune" as an OE one.

I'd also say the priced accordingly bit is likely to be a lot less (given the rrp on a shock aftermarket its often half or more of a frame.)

In the same position I'd be looking at putting *something* on be that a crap (and declared as such) one or the one you're thinking of keeping.

Whatever you do though, include the mounting hardware!

*I assume custom tune really just means decals but you never know, maybe they did spend ages with fox/rs getting it just right [then speccing something else on the sand frame in a different trim]

It's a 200x57mm (Rocket). Also works with a 200x50mm for reduced travel. Would be great if you did have one.

The also nearly brand new mounting hardware will go with the frame as it is not useful for the new frame. My thought was a get a cheap replacement. The one I am keeping (on its way for a rebuild already) was pricey enough to make it worth it. It also wasn't the OEM shock :D.

Totally fine, and clued-up buyers might even welcome the opportunity. I know I have in the past, when I've already had an X2 or CCDB in the correct size.

Certainly will work out cheaper for you than selling with shock and having to buy a new shock.

if its priced acccordingly to allow for someone to buy a shock it`ll sell OK.

i bought my FS frame without a shock but it was £150 cheaper than the same one for sale at the time with a shock.

Hi @nixie

For the right price, I will 100% buy your frame. I have a 200x57mm shock that I can use* I.e. I need a frame but don't need a shock. It's like a match made in heaven.

PM me.

* might have to check the shock tune is valid but should be fine.

EDIT, oh hang on. 26 or 27.5 ? I need 27.5.

I wouldn't necessarily be put off, as long as the required shock size was quoted and that I could source a shock of that size.

I recently bought a new FS frame that did not come with a shock.

@Superficial I will PM you. It's a 27.5.

This is how I go fast on zwift, no drag :D.

I recently bought a new FS frame that did not come with a shock.

That's basically what I've done. It's slightly annoying with hindsight to be servicing a basically new shock to change its length but definitely way cheaper than buying another new shock.

Yeah I realised that wasn't a spec of dust on my monitor and it really does say 18.5cm tall

If I was in the market for a second hand full suspension frame I'd prefer to buy one without a shock as it's the part (of the full sus frame/shock combo) that's the hardest to determine the condition of.

That's exactly how I feel about shocks and forks. Unless it's from a friend or has a proven invoice for a service I assume it needs to go to TF and is effectively a potentially liability.

As long as it was priced appropriately (e.g.ess the cost of a sh shock) it wouldnt bother me
