roblerner - "OP has a (badly written and not very important) point" Not really any need for that kind of tone. If I've offended you then apologies

Don't worry Antony, it's just par for the course round here.
And as you have seen another common answer is simply "be richer" 😕

Aye you'll get a roasting here if folk think you don't have a point. Have to say I agree with them on this one!

Anyway antonyfw welcome to the main forum 😀

Best way to deal with trolls is ignore them, it's often very hard from the safety of your chair but ultimately very satisfying

Post pictures of your wrists in the chat forum on a Saturday evening and then ask again. I'm sure you'll get a sympathy bike pretty fast. 😉

Being richer has nothing to do with it. It's about expectations. If it was expensive stuff to start with it won't be mega cheap on here. People expect to get a fair price for it. If you have a champagne taste in bikes and an asti spumante budget then you're going to get frustrated but set your sights at a more realistic level and you'll get a good bike off here.

As somebody said earlier if you don't want to pay the asking price then haggle but don't take the p!ss with your offer and you might be successful otherwise just walkaway from it (they'll be another one along soon enough anyway).

The vast majority of stuff on here is sensibly priced. There is always the odd chancer who expects over the odds but generally they get no takers and either reduce there price or go away.

Does anyone remember the Ebay ad- something like (but funny)...

LOOK BIKE BIDDING PLEASE READ LOOK

"Come on everybody stop biding on bikes. Theirs lots of road bikes on here and everyone keeps biding them up at the last minite. If we don't all bid we can all get bargins.... Sticking early bids in is stupid too because if the price stayed low til the end of the auction then the last minut bids would be low- So come on everyone use your common sensc dont bid on bikes"

And it would appear that some get a great frame at a bargain price and still try to claim it didn't turn up and can I have the money back please.

I do get really sick of the opinion that sellers should do buyers a favour. Why not the other way round? The price is right when both parties are happy to sell and buy at a stated price. If you think stuff is too expensive, you obviously don't have to buy it. But then again you probably want the moon on a stick too.

...or use a credit card. I know mine is still reeling from recent expenditures 😉
