Scott scale which only accepts 34.9mm diameter. The problem is I can only find kcnc seatpost with a 85kg weight limit I'm hovering around that weight limit at the moment and intend to drop that down to 80.

Option 1 is buy the kcnc and risk it as it's only a summer bike and I'll be down to the required weight by then.

Option 2 use a shim and a USE seatpost I'm not overly keen on shims.

Any ideas

shim will be fine at 100mm or ritchey for a post per factory
Did you break what came on the bike??

It's just a bit too short

I might buy a shim and seatpost for the time being and see how I get on. It'll only be a short time I'll be on the limit.

My 2017 Specialized Enduro Carbon came shimmed due to the 34.9 seatpost also, Just need to take it out now and again to get the grit and silt out of it and its fine, I have had no issues with.

All carbon Enduro that year came shimmed.

Of those options I'd go for the right sized post. Not keen on shims either

Hmmmm, the standard pin is too short, so you're going to put a long post in, then shim it, and you are right at (or above) the max weight for the pin.

What could possibly go wrong.....

These are *really* long compared to USE etc and open up a lot of possibilites for either dropper or fixed seatposts. The standard 100mm shims tend to make me a bit worried too, particuarly if the top tube is dropped or seat stays meet the seat tube below the top tube.

Look at their super lock clamp as well - it holds the shim in place so you don't have to faff if you remove the seatpost or adjust the seat height.
