Riding along when all of a sudden with a big bang the seatpost bolt sheers! And not for the first time either, what am i doing wrong? Interesting 10 mile ride home any way

is it just a single bolt seatpost
it's a lot for a single bolt to take,
probably best to get twinbolt something like this so the forces are spread out

That looks to be the solution, two bolts better than one

Depends surely on the relative strengths of two thinner bolts versus one big one. Had you over tightened the bolt(s)?

Anyway, I'll just sit and wait to be told I'm wrong.

the seat was loose after a ride a couple of weeks ago, so i could have over tightened it. Get the point on the two bolts, but maybe the placing is better a i ride with the seat fairly far back.
