Hi, I've got a big scratch in my stanchion, fairly deep too in places. I've seen people mention using nail varnish to build the scratch back up to the level of the anodizing. Anyone done this with a measure of success? Have any tips at all, I assume you'd need to rub it down a bit to avoid the repair damaging the seals? They are Rebas if that makes any difference.

Cheers to any of the bodgers out there who can save me £200 for a replacement (assuming, crown, steerer and legs in one assy?)

apply nail varnish let dry, emery down, repeat till scratches can't be felt, the bigger the area you put nail varnish on the less chance of rubbing the original coating away.

Better tutorials online somewhere, but i'll let you look them up as i'm out for picnics in the sunshine.
