I am tempted to buy a pair of schwalbe land cruiser tyres to put on my commuter bike (boardman hybrid) for over the winter months so i can take the bike off road for part of the commute.
What are these tyres like on the road? Will they be significantly slower than the conti gatorskins i current use?
Advice appreciated.

I have gatorskins on my roadbike and landcruisers on my cx bike .They are heavy and slow but ideal for what you suggest .5 finishes in the 3 peaks cross with no punctures is proof of this

i use landcruisers they roll well on road and work well off road and bomb proof, they are a tad heavy but you dont need to worry about punctures. i wouldnt say particularly slow though certainly wouldnt race on them.
