i hear they are good on the slippy stuff but how bad are they once you get back on to clear tarmac?

Massive overkill, obviously! You sound like a combine harvester coming down the road. I keep it under 15mph as I don't want to lose any spikes. Handling, etc is fine as long as they are pumped up enough. I found the rear wheel very slidey on normal tarmac at lower pressures.

Heavy, draggy & noisy. Obviously since fitting them on Saturday, the snow and ice has almost disappeared. Bah.
