[Closed] Schwalbe 29er tyre widths

I've just fitted a Nobby Nic 2.35" on the front of my 29er. I'd really like something of the exactly the same volume on the rear, but I wouldn't mind something faster rolling than a NN.

Has anyone tried a NN front, Racing Ralph 2.25" rear? If so, how do the two compare volume/width wise?

(just wondered if Schwalbe have the variable/random sizing that Maxxis have)

TIA

Hi

I have both of those tyres. They are pretty much the same width. If anything the Ralph looks a touch wider.

I have 2.25 Rocket Rons and Racing Ralphs, both are the same width which is fairly accurate.

It will have it on the side of the tyre

tyre sizes are generally marked according to ETRTO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization)

The ETRTO size specification 57-622 indicates the width of 57 mm and the tire inner diameter of 622 mm. This dimension is clear and allows for precise classification of the rim size.

2.25 RR is 57mm and the 2.35 NN is 60mm

Cheers, that's good to know - and MTBtires site is very useful....not that I'm a complete tyre geek or anything...cough.

I've got a fairly specific requirement for my new FS 29er, so guess I should have expanded a bit on the 'problem'. The bike is a Camber 29er, and it came with a Spesh Ground Control 2.1" rear. In most situations, the Ground Control is great, but on fast rough descents, I feel a bit more tyre volume would come in handy (decision reached after much experimenting with tyre and shock pressure). Bottom line is that the bike has only got 110mm of rear suspension, so I'm not expecting miracles - but would like to get the most out of it.

Rear tyre clearance is good for width, and I suspect an accurate 2.3" tyre would clear fine - But, problem is the seatstay bridge, as with the current 2.1" tyre, there's only about 10mm clearance at best.

So, what I'm looking for is a wide but not tall profile tyre, if that makes sense (rocking horse poo perhaps?!).

Any sensible suggestions welcome (and yes, I do have longer travel 26er bikes ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
