[Closed] Scandal sizing question
I'm 5'10" and a bit with a 32.5" inside leg.
Other bike wise I ride a medium (17.5") Genesis iO and a medium Nicolai Helius CC. Looking at TT lengths a 16" (medium) scandal would be bang on, but I'm a little concerned that I'd have a lot of post sticking out.
Any ideas? It'd invariably have a 90mm stem and an inline post fitted.
I'm only a bit taller (5'11") and I'd go for the 18". I ride* an 18" Inbred and have ridden an 18" TD-1 (both designed by Brant).
*until it was nicked the other week
try and have a go on one. Where are you based? Someone might have one near you.
My mate has a 16" inbred, are they similar geometry?
Yes exact same geometry to the current inbred!
5'11" on an 18" Scandal with 100mm stem & very loooong lay back seatpost - I would say 18" for sure.
I'm 5'11" with a 34" inside leg and I ride an 18" Scandal 29er, admittedly I use a short stem and Fleegle bars that do have a big back sweep though.
Where do you live? You're welcome to have a go on my Scandal if your anywhere near South Yorks.
I'm in Cheshire or London if anyone has one I could sit on
Steve - I'm reading if that's any good to you (30mins from landaan if you are near paddington)
I'd say a medium, I'm 5'7.5" and ride a 16 with a 70mm stem and have a 31" inside leg and have lots of post showing
I have a 16" Scandal and 30" inside leg on a good day. Running a 350mm seat post at maximum extension (100mm in the frame).
.
So I would say definitely go for the 18" as recommended above.
.
On-one recommend a shorter stem of 70-90mm. I run a 100mm which feels way too long so changing it soon for a 70mm.
Thanks for the advice guys, reckon I'll plump for the 18". I've got a 90mm Thomson that'll go on it, just need the post to match as I've only got a 31.6 spare
Would you say a Scandal is a better frame than a Boardman Team/Pro?
Hi Steve
Yes I'd say it's better. I used to have a boardman pro and it's finished lovely but the scandal is just more, dunno, keen when ridden.
The scandal is slightly slacker too from memory.
