On-one Scandal 26er currently taking shape in my garage.

I'm trying to decide which of my forks to stick on it as I'm going to be using the bike for endurance racing.
Do I go for..

RS Reba Teams (100mm)

or

RS 2008 Revelations (100-130mm).

Opinions/experiences....

Reba 100mm, although someone will be along and say you can whack a 130mm fork on it, but it's a race bike designed for fast riding a 100mm fork is optimum IMO.

i agree with kingtut - i guess you're reba's will be lighter too. if you were building it as a lightweight trail bike, i'd go adjustable travel.

Here I am,,,, hope to build mine up this weekend, will be running 125mm Marvericks, cos thats what I have.... The same type of fork worked fine on my Tinbred.

You got a choice why not try both sets, its not a load of agro to swap them is it.

No I guess not.

Although I've got 3 weeks until the race and the Rebas need to be have the spacer removed to change them from 85mm to 100mm.

Not sure whether to
do it myself
or
send it off to Chainreaction(£39)
or
TFT Tuning (£60)

I have Rebas on my Scandal. I want to try it with longer forks though as I take it to Wales now and again.

what race? I got 3 weeks until I take the Scandal for its first race too..Mud Sweat & Gears.

Just found out my frame wont be ready this weekend got to wait until next weekend for its pimp new colour to be finished. Damn, am itching to build it up now.

I really dont know how they handle with 100's or 120's or 130's for that matter am assuming the bike is similar to my stolen Tinbred and I only rode that as either rigid, or with the mav's on it, was fine either way. The Mavericks are going on as thats what I have on my donor full sus, and it will be a 1 bike do it all kind of thing so the longer fork should be fine. I do have alockdown if it wanders on the climbs, but the tinbred didnt so neither should this.

Anyhow you answered your own question, build it with the long fork on, get the others sent off then try them on in a couple of weeks.

ackie, removing the spacer on rebas is quite an easy job. I certainly wouldn't spend 60 notes on it. If you have the tools then all you need is some fork oil.

Also have a look here -

plus, the instructions on the Rockshox website are quite thorough. There are also instructions on MTBR.com if you search the forum.

I'd love to be doing Mud Sweat & Gears but my mate signed me up for the DEVON Coast 2 Coast
The extreme version!!!!
That's 140 fricking miles in one day.
I'm actually pooping myself about it TBH.

Ferk me, thats going to be a long day!!! I would be a bit worried myself, as it would take me ages to whittle a canoe out of a tree for the water bits.

100mm Reba Teams on mine = Brilliant, fast, agile and light.

The scandal is designed for fast smooth riding with both wheels on the ground.
I go the full hog and put carbon forks on in the winter, great fun. Makes the bike so light.

If I was racing I'd stick the Rebas on it but for general riding I'd stick the Revs on it. The Scandal is a lot more versatile than just a race bike and has the exact same geometry as a standard Inbred anyway and is therefore suitable for 100 to 130mm forks, the same as the Revs.

I ran mine with 100-130mm rev u-turns but tbh it didn't work very well, lovely frame up to 110mm but it lost its manners above that.
