Anyone ridden a MTB around San Remo (Italy) - if so any ideas / recommendations on routes etc? Cheers ๐
Riviera bike just up the road in Molini
For my book the best ridng I've ever done - perhaps Squamish was equal
@ plumber - thanks for the response, got any more details? โ
Stunning part of the world, and really close to the rockier Alpes Maritime just across the border in france.
Depends what your after, if you like exploring buy a 1:2500 map and hit the trails, a lot of the area is great singeltrack and mental long downhill runs. The mountain villages are great for a stop off too, one of the best parts of Italy for food which is saying something!
If you want a bit more of a reliable holiday with the minimum of getting lost give these guys a shout, the site is italian but they do speak english.

Trails are great at this time of the year and you can split with a few days skiing at Limone which is just up the road!
Send me an email if you decide to visit the french side and I'll mark up some maps for you and/or show you some routes if I am around.
adsb - thanks for the responses, am looking at links next.....Quick question - is it a case of just explore with a map then? Any idea on permissions for riding off road etc?
Cheers
L
I've never had a problem exploring the trails, there are an unbelievable network of paths, trails, firetracks in the area and most are pretty well marked. I stick to marked trails which don't need permission. It is very hilly though so you need to be a bit smart with route planning and reading the contour lines.
Thanks for the plug Plum
Lucien we are based in San Remo for the winter we do AM guided rides as well as shuttle freeride runs...
Take alook at the latest edition of Dirt Magazine, there is an article on area we also ride just 30 mins from San Remo to give you an idea.
The higher stuff in the mountains is now closed because of the early snow and as adsb said there is loads more riding around.
Drop me a line my email is in my profile or on our website Rivierabike
BTW
adsb, do I know you? I remember a guy called Adam from Mento who either rode with us or Roby from Argentina bike (we shuttle together sometimes)
Ady
Ady,
Don't think we've met because I'd not heard of you! great website though and I'd love to join you on one of your guided days - will send you a mail.
Another vote for Rivierabike - fantastic. Best riding i've done in Europe. If you like techy woody singletrack then you'll be in 7th heaven.
And if you want to go to San Remo, the ride that the trail below is on (featuring Ady), ends at the sea with a beer.

Got to agree with the above comments. Best all-mountain riding in Europe, with some incredibly good trails.
Molini is a great base and Ady knows the trails. Great holiday.
Ady - will be in touch, thanks for the replies guys!!
