[#12888052]

I want to set up a Salsa Cutthroat v2 (58 cm frame) with internally routed dropper post and Di2. In this case, Salsa says to install the Di2 battery in the down tube. They say to insert it via the head tube (insertion via the bottom bracket doesn't work).

However, when I try this, the battery gets stuck after about 1-2 cm. I took out all the bottle cage/frame bag bolts, so it's not getting stuck on those. I get the impression the internal cable channels are constricting the down tube too much for the battery to pass them.

Does anyone run a similar set up? How did you get the battery in there?

I'd talk to Rich and Shona at Keep Pedalling in Manchester. They were hugely helpful in getting me a Warbird sorted out and both have Cuttys so know them inside out.

Unfortunately no good news so far. Rich of Keep Pedalling was super responsive and forwarded my question to Salsa, who've only sent me a mail saying they're very busy.

If anyone has any experience with this, I'd be super grateful for any tips. Or maybe a video showing how you can insert a Di2 battery into your Cutthroat's down tube would be awesome.

Have you tried the cutthroat and open cutthroat pages on Facebook. Some exotic kit on there with helpful people.

I've only got grx810 on mine so can't help with the di2 battery issue

Yes, just put a post on the "Open Cutthroat" Facebook group. Unfortunately I've not been able to join the closed group, still waiting for the moderators to accept me.
