Fed up with shonky X9 and can't/won't pay for X0 so thinking of returning to Shimano transmission, like the look and alleged ruggedness of Saint.
Anyone use one and ideally got pictures - also what are the Saint shifters like, I've a pair of oldish XT shifters in the bits box so could use those but I'm a sucker for 'matching bits'.....

I use a short cage Saint with a M770 XT shifter on a 1 x 7 (Hope SS hub). Seems to have good spring tension so the shifts are nice and positive.

I've got one on my Uzzi.

Flipping expensive, and it went sloppy very quickly - to the point I had to strip it down and shim it in various places to get rid of most of the play. Since then it's survived another 18 months, but it's not especially precise in it's shifting.

Once it dies I'll either replace it with an XT, or see what SRAM have to offer. The new generation lo-pro X9s seem to be a lot more robust than the old ones.

Well, I had one of 'those' X9s which lost the ability to hit the lower two cogs 🙁
2011 X9 (9speed) is about £80 @ CRC 8O, same as Saint.
