I'm thinking of ditching SRAM and moving back to shimano.
I'm currently running a medium cage X0 mech, 9 speed with 22 / 36 t chainrings and a Gamut roller
Will a GS Saint mech take up the same amount of chain? Or would I need to look at an SGS mech?
Saint M810 GS has a 31 or 37 Teeth Range depending on whether you have the mode adapter removed or fitted.
The M810 SS has a 17 or 23 Range respectively.
Mode adapter is fitted if the cassette has a large sprocket of >28T.
This is probably the best 9-sp mech ever made...it can do MTB or Road and at only 250g is not massively heavy.
Excellent bearings and overall quality as well as a strong spring.

thanks Paul. How do I work out the range? Is it the difference between the smallest chainring + smallest back cog and the biggest chainring + biggest back cog?
22 front + 11 rear = 33
36 front + 34 rear = 70
range = 37. So I should be fine?
Sorry for the delay...you are correct.
