Currently helping a friend of mine make some changes.
I've just bought a Saint single crankset with bash, but I'm losing the bash in favour of an E13 chainguide.
He's got a Kona Steeley with an FSA Alpha Drive chainset.
It won't be as simple as dropping his outer ring & installing bash, but what problems will I encounter? Will it even fit?
I know about tweaking the limit screw on the front mech, is a medium cage rear mech essential, or will it work fine with a long (assuming we adjust the chain length correctly)
Your mech will still work.
If you are running a single chainring on this bike them why do you need a front mech? Does this crankset have a bash guard and 1 ring in which case removing the bash will require you get shorter chain ring bolts.
You post is a little confusing.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear.
The question is about installing a Saint bash from a single Saint chainset onto an FSA triple chainset which is converting to a double.
So:
I'm building a new bike, and have just bought a Saint chainset.
I'm removing the bash & giving it to a friend. He'll remove his big ring & replace with the bash.
Will the bash fit onto the FSA Alpha drive chainset as a replacement for his big ring?
