Obviously saddles are a personal thing but has anyone got any pointers (not too pointy)?

We got my daughter the smaller version of this saddle (the kids version) for her Orbea.

Halfords Junior Saddle | Halfords UK

She finds it comfortable; it has a decent relief channel and quite a flat surface for sit bones. The cushioning is decent, but not overly squidgy so is quite supportive.
The packaging suggests suitability for certain wheel sizes, but that seems irrelevant to me. Daughter is now on a 24" wheeled bike but perfectly fine on the kids saddle.

14 yo daughter has one of these on the MTB and likes it https://kidsracing.co.uk/collections/saddles-posts-child-specific-proportional-bike-children/products/hup-xc-race-saddle

On her CX bike she has a Ritchey streem comp which she also likes.

10yo is on these but they are a bit narrow for older girls. https://kidsracing.co.uk/collections/saddles-posts-child-specific-proportional-bike-children/products/hup-childrens-race-bike-saddle

My 15yo is near enough adult sized; as with any adult sized person it might be worth a saddle fit if there’s eg a Specialized dealer nearby?

All the caveats, depends on what she’s doing and what the problem is but…

Specialised mimic? I like this

some women like the charge spoon.

any women’s saddle will be better than a man’s! Same for some nice padded shorts.

Personally I think it's a bit mean making her carry you around.

I went through soooo many saddles for both my wife and daughter and bought pretty much every test winner going. My daughter complained of pain constantly until I stumbled across this Selle Royal saddle, I fitted one to all her bikes and even on a big eeb week (35,000 feet and 140 + miles) she is perfectly comfortable, all for the princely sum of £16. Here is the link, they always describe them as brown, the picture is brown, but I’ve always been sent black. All the yellow bits come off:

My daughter is only 13 and 148 cm so that one may be too small… I bought the same brand, similar ish, but bigger for my wife, less than a quarter of the price of all the other saddles and she loves it. It is a bit unsightly 🤣

Thanks all, some good suggestions there. Last big trip we did (40 miles overnighter to be fair) she resorted to wrapping her hoody up and sitting on that.

For Edinburgh folk, the Portobello bike library has selection of saddles that can hired at £5 a pop so might try one or two of those, but I can see the Halfords or Selle Royal ones above being good, and less than £20 is a bonus.

At less than £20 you can also always sell them with a minimal loss if they don’t work out! 🙂

That was my first thought when I saw the thread title. Maybe one that was meant for a very small pony?

WTB Koda is originally a female orientated saddle. I love mine. It's firmer than the Rocket but more squishy that a Nukeproof Neutron.  It's a Goldilocks saddle. Could be worth a look.
