I've one of the newish RSP Plummets, the ones where the cable enters under the seat. Towards the end of today's ride it broke - it wouldn't lock and just kept going up and down.

Hoping it was just the cable on the wonk I took that out (and to be fair, it was frayed and knackered) but that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Even without a cable installed it goes up and down and the lever that the cable enters is just flopping up and down with no discernible purpose. I've stripped it all down and the piston goes up and down, is that right when it's out of the post? Or should the top be a switch that unlocks it?

Apologies if this makes little sense, long day. But I'd just like to know if I'm being stupid before I go chasing up warranties.

Cheeky bump for the daytime crowd.

TLDR; should an RSP Plummet go up and down when the cable isn't attached?

Hmm. I just fitted one to my fatty so this is interesting. How long have you had it?

Since November I think. It's gone back for warranty, so we'll see what happens.

For balance up until now it's been grand!
