I've got a set of 09 RS Lyriks - 160mm U-turns and the rebound knob on no longer seems to do anything.
The knob turns but the rate doesnt change.
Is this likely to be a quick fix or replacement of the rebound assembly?
New rebound assembly, the internals have rounded/jammed
The adjuster has a length of hexagonal metal on it exactly like an allen key. Remove the adjuster, remove the length of metal and you might be able to insert an allen key and adjust it that way. I've done this before.
You might find that the socket that the allen key goes into is rounded, in which case you'll need to re-assess your options. Take the fork to bits and have a look at the bottom of the rebound assembly to see if you can do anything with it. You can either work out a way of affixing something to it that'll let you adjust it, adjust it with a wrench before you refit and just leave it, or buy a new rebound assembly.
The rebound assm. is punched shut so you can't get inside it without destroying it (I have tried on a couple of broken ones) Thry the long allen key method, if this doesn't work it's a replacement unit.
Thanks.
I'll try the long allen key approach first, but sounds like a new assembly then.
Any idead, how much for one of those?
What's caused the failure?? Dont think I've touched the rebound adjuster more than twice in 3 years.
