Ah I'd discounted ramsden wood coz I've only ever been down the well techy steps, road looks worth a go tho, having trouble finding long causway and watergrove on google/memorymap tho

Edit: Ah right found them, takes me a bit far south tho, what about the charmingly named foul clough road?

Todmorden, Flower Scar Road, Sharneyford, Down to Bacup on the bridleway west of and parallel to the main road.
Across Bacup and up to the quarry, couple of loops, then head west along tracks to Alf Kymes scrapyard, up onto Rooley Moor and choice of routes down to Ramsbottom.
Hard work as a daily commute I suspect though!

Thanks for the ideas so far, I'm heading home now will checkout the routes later.

It's only going to be an occasional thing so 20-30 miles should be right, it's obviously going to be a hilly route but as long as its rideable it should be OK.
