Interesting. TBC are you free?

EDIT: gay question I know, but what are the rules? Can you bring spd/shoes? How long is the race? How many rounds etc?

Can't find on that site...

Ta but my Q was directed at our esteemed LBS managing pal!

So you have to pay £5 just to get in? Is there a bar? Food?

£5 entry in to the venue. Then qualifying commences at 6 pm and the final is at 11 pm.

It cost no extra to race. £5 gets you in the venue and you are able to race if you want.

they use clips and straps and your feet get strapped in tight, it's a knockout system but you have to qualify first. the have a board with riders names in chalk, i think they have 20 qualifiers? then fastest v slowest which should keep the good spinners apart till the final. sometimes the final is over double the distance.

a representative of rollapaloser will be on here in a bit as they have a websearch thing that alerts them to mentions of their brand name.

Not exactly my thing either other than the laugh quotient.

Can't you ride a turbo trainer one-handed? It's not on actual rollers is it?

No other stw-burgh-fag-bois attending?

yep. Front fork is locked in and the rear wheel is on rollers.

Just spin them legs as fast as you can.. drop the saddle down and get down low. Worked for me 🙂

my flatmate worked for them and am friends with friends of the owners, it's just a mickey-take, i sometimes call it 'that rapha pub courier cycling game' but the reality is it's a professionally run outfit.

Mark - the back end was all over the place, even I struggle to handle 115BHP on wet cobbles. I'll take this to teh email.

TD - ta - I'd define real rollers as not having the fork locked into anything.

Any info on race duration? What's the latest time I could pitch up for qualifying?

Well it's not a friggin turbo!

if you ask them to put the front wheel back in cus you only race on real rollers i'm sure they'd oblige 😀

Finals should start about 9. Top 16 men and top 8 women. I would say 8.30 would be the latest safe bet.

As Mr Smith predicted here we are, well in fact we're on the motorway... thanks for the jibes Mr Smith, although after over 400 events why you think a certain clothing company has anything to do with it...

It's a fun social night out, great for spectators and competitors, there is no extra charge to race once you're in and we are insured!

These Scottish events are part of our national series, trying to find the UK's king of spin and queen of cadence...

Qasulification 'til 9 then as mentioned knockouts in Olympic format, there will be music and beer and atmosphere.

MTB or any other cycling shoes with non or recessed cleats are best, there are often David and Goliath moments...

Why do we lock the front forks? for inclusivity, we have 15000 participants a year, this wouldn't be possible if it was only open to those experienced on rollers already....really anyone can race....Chris Hoy, Craig Maclean and Victoria Pendleton have all Rollapaluzered.

here are some vids...

You haven't got a choice!

When are the finals? You need to get those wee legs trained up and make a good showing.

Anyone in the Burgh last night then? Did you enjoy it?
