I'm thinking of buying some sektor rl forks, has anyone got a pair, and what do you think of them? I'll be shortening them to 120mm to use on a 4x/ piss around bike after blowing up my manitous ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Use Sektor coil u turns on my BFe and i'm pretty happy with them, had to swap the spring out for an x-firm as the standard spring was way too soft, i'm 14st kitted up so i'd be looking elsewhere if i was much heavier. My mate seems pretty happy with his air sprung Sektors on his meta 5 too. Not quite as stiff as my old Pikes but plenty solid enough imo.

got Coil RL's on my Pitch. Very pleased.

Contrary to the above - I'm about 13st and find the stock spring absolutely fine, correct sag with couple of turns of preload.

Plnety stiff enough, (Ive ran 36's before so I know stiff), light enough, damping simply but effective, perfect really in my eyes.

the coils are so plush and sensitive compared even to fantastically expensive air forks, well worth the minor weight penalty IMO.

i heard (but dont quote me)that sektors replaced pikes and all they are is rebadged recons which were inferior to pikes originally basically second hand or old stock pikes are cheaper and better than sektors just an option to consider and also look into as im not sure how true it is

They don't really replace Pikes, they're basically Revelation chassis with cheaper bits. Sit in more or less the same place in the bewildering Rockshox range as Recons though. But the motion control ones have better damping than any model of Pike had.
